Default 73 hard top, third hole

I have a 73 convertible with the original top. It has a third hole in the center of the deck lid where the hard top is further secured when put on.
The hole is in the center of the deck and appears to be missing some hardware or something as it is simply a hole drilled in the fiberglass.
I am wondering if this is just how it is or is there something that goes in the hole or matching chrome to cover the hole. Any information is appreciated!

My 73 vert does not have a 3rd hole. I don't believe that is correct.

Only convertibles that were originally optioned with a hardtop will have the center hole in the decklid.

Mine is a simple hole with a chrome or stainless bezel. I don't believe there was anything to cover the hole.

Purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM), flip to the section on the optional hard top, and take a look at the factory installation. I'm reasonably sure all the parts are available.

Third hole is correct you're just missing the Ferrel.

.....and the hard top

Interesting to know that cars shipped with a hard top had the chromed hole. Guess my hard top has a different owner .
