I had the dealer look at this problem to no avail.
Had a Chevy mechanic on the side worked on it and thought he fixed it with a sparking wire by the starter.
Still happening. Anyone have an idea what is draining the battery?
I know it could be anything but maybe someone might have a place to start looking.
pull one fuse at a time until the voltmeter you are testing with shows zero. Then you know which circuit and can look at the specific item. Are you sure it's a drain and the battery and charging system are OK?
New battery. Not sure about the charging system. I assume the dealer checked that but I will get that looked at. Thanks for the volt meter test will pass that on.
I just fixed my battery drain, it turned out to be in the horn contact in the steering wheel, I pulled one of the wires that plug into the horn relay and that stopped the drain. that wire didn't run though the fuse panel so the "pull the fuse test" didn't find the problem.
my charging system woes usualy led me to a bad external ( or internal ) voltage regulator. can show proper charging but also dis charge at a rapid rate if the diodes are damager try testlight between the negitive cable and battery negitive terminal if light glows ther is a draw try disconecting altenator leads see if light goes out remember clocks, radio memory ect can consume power so taking them out of the picture is a must. good luck hope this helps
