Spare Tire

I am thinking of driving cross country from Syracuse to San Diego. I might put the spare tire tube on. But what tire and rim should I use? The original tire and rim are 35 years old and I can not get a new tire in the semi-compact spare tire/rim size.

Cheapest option is probably to get the spare from a 93-02 Camaro/Firebird. I paid $30 for mine and the 97-02 even clears my big brakes (they switched to a larger rim in 97).

Do you mean the spare tire from a 93 to 02?
