Rear Center Tail Light Problem
Hi All,
Was wondering if anyone can help in final stages of a 1975 convert able restore. Replaced all the lights front and rear and all work fine except the center rear tail lights, the tail lights with the red and clear lens. Neither one will light. The outer are fine. Does anyone know what would cause them not to work and any way to test or troubleshoot the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Rod,
Have you checked the back-up light switch that's mounted on the transmission?
The reverse lever on the trans moves a little rod which moves a small lever on the switch.
The wire from the switch runs forward and joins a lead that disappears through the firewall.

The pink 'glob' is insulation on the switch's body. You can just see the small rod between the two large shifter rods.
