I bought a 6pt roll bar from Autoweld as they have kits for all Corvettes. It will take some modding for my Street Shop chassis and probably would for an SRIII. They also sell 8-14pt cages. You may want to look at Lizard Skin for coating the underside of the body.

Thanks for the info on the Autoweld. I have seen adds for them. Are you happy with their product quality? I am planning on using Lizard Skin on the underside. Already have it, just have a couple of little things to finish before spraying it. Looking forward to getting it on there so I can do the final body set. Thanks.
Ive been working on the car for two years and it should be ready by next summer. I live in Tx but work in Asia so Im not in a rush to finish it until I can drive it. It is very similar to your build:
SBC 427@565hp
T56
Street Shop chassis
Dana 44HD@3:55
Baer 6P brakes with hydro-boost
Corbeau A4 seats and 6pt roll bar
ISIS wiring system with Dakota Digital Dash and led taillights
Wheels 18x12, 18x10 with Michelin PS2s
I have a 68 Coupe rolling body that I will eventually build into a car for mile and 1/2 mile events. I am trying to decide whether I should go custom chassis or mod the original frame with updated suspension. I am also trying to decide if I should go solid axle instead of irs for durability. Looking at photos of your car sure makes me want to go with an SRIII chassis. Can you provide a component list of your engine build? I am especially interested in which heads you went with.

If you are planning on really using your 68, I would not go with the original chassis. There is way to much flex. The SRIII is very rigid. IMHO makes for a much better platform to start with. If it was me and I was only planning on running it in on the drag strip, I would go with a straight axle.
My motor is built with a Dart Sportsman small block and Dart Pro One 227 CNC heads. We bought bare heads, ported, polished and port matched them then put our own parts on the heads to finish.
If you want more details, just let me know.

Solid or hydraulic roller? Thanks for the frame advice.
The cam is a solid roller Crower with a 4-7 swap.
Intake duration 289, lift .654
Exhaust duration 301, lift .642
That is topped with a T & D shaft roller rocker set.
Hi guys, sorry for the slow update but work has just kept me slammed. Got a chance to spray the underside this weekend. I will try to get a pic or 2 to post. So the body is set for the final mating. Hoping for next weekend. Wish me luck.

When it comes to fender flairs You may not need to go to the full L88 ones. You can always make your own I know it sounds like a lot of work but I did it and it really isn't. You will end up with a more suttle look. I have 315's on mine with no tubs and I flaired it out only 1 1/4" and I could go to a 335 if I want to. Google "Corvette Fever Fender Flair" and you can see how I did it. Another perk for you is if you don't like how it looks when you mock it up your going to cut it all out when you install the L88's anyway.
Thanks to the help of my good friend Pete, yesterday we got the body on the chassis and bolted down. Wasn't able to work on it today, but thought I would post some pics of the product. Hopefully can finish the brakes and steering soon, get the radiator in and fire it up.

Hey, yer frame looks a bit funny like its fer a different car - like a race car. Sure u got the right frame? It got the wrong steering cylinder and the wrong differential too.

Thanks, I really plan to spend plenty of time on the road race track when it is done.
