Transmission

I put my car in reverse the car makes this dramatic jolt. It's like a snap back crack that is loud. The transmission was rebuilt two years ago. The frequency is on and off but mainly when low on fuel/subtle incline.

Not sure if its related but im leakin oil and oil pressure gauge is jacked up. Both are being fixed this weekend.

Two issues may be present: 1) your idle speed is excessively high (above 700 rpm); and 2) the rubber cushions on the differential mounts could be shot.

When the factory chin bushings/cushions on the differential dry rot, the subsequent loss of stability causes ugly noises there. A common source to the clunking problem on these suspensions.

To go along with the above...U-joints could be shot as well. there are 6 of them....check them all
