Somehow I now have to come up with the courage to hand her the keys and me not be in the car!

Nice pictures! Glad to see one of us is complete and driving. Mine as you know is still at AR. Getting a little frustrated. 4 weeks is a long time and it is 4 weeks less to finish up the car. Good luck with it. Everything looks great.

Well, took the ole' 71 on 3 legs of the Power Tour from Atlanta to Charlotte, NC, on to Knoxville, TN and Charleston, WV before returning home.

DO NOT tie your 12 volt switched wire into any of the factory dash gauge harness... Run that sucker on a relay!! This could also be due to my wideband drawing much more current than any of the factory stuff but I found out that when you would get the car warm (like running with the parking lights on for an extended period) and hit the throttle, it would pop the fuse. First time that happened was on the way up to Charlotte at about 100 mph on the interstate.... Car dies, gauges die, hydroboost quits so brakes get hard and steering sucks... Not a fun experience! Also, the tune in the car went to **** a few times and we are not sure why. Thankfully I had the laptop and cable with me but we could drive around and watch one bank pull fuel while the other was adding, and then it would flip and be all over the place. Watching the MAF reading at one setting, say 2.9 MAF, would be pulling 8% while the next time it hit 2.9 it might be adding 17%. It was crazy and acting almost like it had a big leak. We will put it on the smoke machine to see if anything is leaking but the drive was pretty miserable most of the time due to a poor running motor. Interstate was great but the around town, part throttle stuff was sucky!!

We did make a pretty neat stop outside Mooresville, NC at the barn used in the movie Day's of Thunder.

The rest of our group.

It has rained enough recently that I had considering selling the Corvette and buying a boat... Thankfully today, the skies cleared and I was able to get the car out for a drive.

Did a little video while I was out - it was really windy so I added music to cover the beginning so you don't just hear wind noise (my video, my rules - you can always mute it).

The music does fade out toward the end so you can actually hear the car though

Just thought I'd share an update. I plan to take the car to a track day at Road Atlanta this coming Saturday. Hopefully all goes well and I am able to drive it back home in one piece!

Beautiful car, and the LS looks and sounds fantastic. You will smiling ear to ear every time you go for a ride.

SUPER sweet ride bro! I SO dig your sealed cold air. You have to move or mod the radiator support?

I was in Thomson over the holidays.

Riggs pretty much summed it up. The LS platform really brings these little ladies alive. I built an iron block LS3 for my C3. With a well equipped 4L60e and 3:73's in the rear, our light ended C3's can bust the tires loose in an eerily easy manner at speeds one wouldn't think you could. This was with 10.5" street slicks. I put the stock 60's back on. Haven't tried those yet. If I can bust rather sticky tires loose then going to the stock Ralleys? I may be texting how it went from a ditch....

West Cobb/Marietta, probably about 1-1/2 hours away from Thomson.

No mods to anything, the Vararam slips between the radiator and the core support. The surround does not completely seal to the hood, the passenger side is lower for some reason but getting a complete seal wasn't my complete intent anyway. I may look at that next time it is on a lift, but for now it works.

Someone asked what the acceleration was like with the new motor...

This was about the only thing I have that could show it. I'll get better video later, and actually am packing up to head to Road Atlanta today so maybe some video from the track

On a closed-road. 40 to 80 mph video with a cell phone.

Very cool, thats when the smile races across your face, at the same acceleration rate as the sweep of the needle of both the tach and speedo. Reminds me of what I have settings in my garage waiting for the winter roads to clear up.
Thanks for sharing.

Took the 71 out to Road Atlanta yesterday.

I must say, I was pretty impressed with how well it did in the group I was running. I was only passed by one car and that was a C5Z which was running in the advanced group the rest of the day. The rear was really loose in the beginning but I am running Nitto 555 tires on a 34 degree track... I dropped the rear pressure to 30 and the front to 32 and it didn't try to swap ends on me again, when driven into and out of the corners properly. The car got real upset if I would put it up on the curbs in the corners. It threw the suspension off pretty bad and made it want to jump out on me, so I learned real quick not to do that! I might have hurt the automatic, again, as it is now slipping when in 4th and locked on the interstate ride home. Definitely not a track car, but a 5 speed would certainly go a long way!

Not sure if I want to dive into that next or consider selling this to buy something that I can actually drive on the track.... Definitely enjoyed driving road courses over drag racing!

Here is a video of about a lap and a half. Stop watch shows about a 1:56 lap, which in an automatic C3 that I am not really leaning on too hard, isn't too bad, I guess..

Also, when I set up the GoPro, the large clip on mirror was not installed and consuming so much windshield real estate....
