Default Converting to R134A question

There seems to be several different or degrees to switching to R134A on any vehicle depending on what type of system and components used.

At the EPA site it states to be compliant with SAE J1661, you must install a high pressure cutoff switch. I haven't looked at any late models of anything to see how's that done. A major retrofit probably has one, correct? Just adding one to the basic system seems difficult but I have seen a dual high/low pressure switch in a catalog online from SosMetal Products. The problem is that I've yet to find where one can purchase one unless it's directly from them which may not be possible.

I have a '78 which is still on R12, I'm working on right now and unless something goes wrong, it'll stay that way. I have another R12 GM product that's dead.

The '78 Corvette may but the '90 Buick doesn't! Just looking right now and my '09 Ford Escape uses a dual pressure switch as well.
