upgrade in engine

I owe a 1975 corvette automatic. What do you think about putting a LSX engine or a LS engine for better performance? If so, can I still use the 350 transmission?

If you go to all that much trouble and expense, why limit yourself with that old tranny? Assuming the trans could live behind the added power, you really want at least one OD gear, maybe two with a manual trans.

That said, you can get a lot of power out of a Gen I SBC for a lot less effort and perhaps less $$.
