Default Headlight door adjustment

I put my new headlight housings in today and ran into a problem.
When the lights are closed, the outboard/front corner sits too low. Can I shim it up or something? I know the side to side adjustments are done by the set screws. What should I do?

Yes, you can shim the front corner support. It may or may not work. I hate it when only one corner does that - Grrr.
Sometimes you just have to split the difference forward/back and side/side.

Did the factory ever use shims? They seemed to have shimmed everything else on our vettes, why not the headlight supports too?

I am trying to understand the adjustment you are trying to make. As I look in my Haynes manual or the Service Manual it talks about two adjustments (i)in-out movement and (ii)up-down movement. From what I read, it is the (ii)up-down movement you need adjusted? So it should not require shims?

Sometime you get 3 of the 4 corners set fine. That damn last corner will not sit right no matter what. Rememebr that the down position is set by a central nut/bolt. So shimming is sometimes necessary..

Thanks Guys,
Here's the poop.
The center bolt trick worked to a point. The corner still sits low. I also managed to get the light to open to the proper height by adjusting the inner hinge bracket and screwing around with the actuator rod.
Still doesnt look perfect. We'll see what happens.

I just tried shims and they worked!
Thanks all.
