After a long winter of procrastination, the motor with the new retro HR is back in the car. My wife and I put it in yesterday. She may not be gorgeous but she sure is handy in the garage. to her!

Spread your wings!

New DFX clutch, pressure plate and billet flywheel.

I'd be careful what I said about the wife... The couch can be a cold, lonely place. Plus, you are lucky to have one that takes an interest in your stuff. Mine does, but not enough to help with engine installs... yet.

For clarification, not so gorgeous in her garage garb. She's a car gal. That's her 370Z roadster outside the garage door.

I wasn't going to post because I didn't want to add to wife related comment. But now I see you are in Hammonds Plains! Just up the road from me - Stillwater Lake.

Gonna love seeing that driving round the neighbourhood.

She's seen this thread and she knows I was kidding. Flowers? She's high maintenance, lol! She got the 370Z for a wedding gift and I got an analog watch

I wished my wife can even hand me a correct sized wrench. This lady can assist with engine swap? Definitely a keeper!

It's this kind of help that makes it pretty difficult to not jump when you're asked to take out the garabage.

Good for you that you and your wife can spend time together working on the Corvette.

Default It started!!!

Set the timing for initial startup, put fluids back in and turned the key. Vroom! Started instantly! Took 'er out for a quick run down the street but noticed some hesitation when accelerating. Back in the garage, adjusted timing for 32* with vacuum disconnected. Hesitation gone and running much smoother. More tweaking required on timing. New clutch is working properly and goes into all gears without issue exept for some slight clutch chatter in first. Hopefully it will be gone after break-in.
