Not a thread about which filter is best but a friend bought a car with a 502/450hp. The shop that serviced the car uses the Hastings filter. I did a search here and it was mentioned in passing. The company has been selling filters for @60yrs.
hastings made a densite filter made of spun fiberglass it was at one time the best filter available for filtering.i have not seen one in years and don't know why. i would use that filter if i could find one.
Baldwin bought hastings took over the well known name.....Clarcor Corp. owns Baldwin, Hastings, Casite, maybe other brand names, and makes some Amsoil oil filters. It's kinda like the consolidation in the suspension business with federal mogal moog ect ect buy outs and mergers like a Roman orgy.

Actually, AMSOIL partnered with Wix and Donaldson many years ago and dropped Hastings (Baldwin). But, as you mention, really hard to tell who owns whom these days.
