Default Hastings Oil Filter

Not a thread about which filter is best but a friend bought a car with a 502/450hp. The shop that serviced the car uses the Hastings filter. I did a search here and it was mentioned in passing. The company has been selling filters for @60yrs.

Anyone use them and if so why this choice?

Thanks.

Based on a little google research Hastings and Baldwin are divisions of same company. This comparison has the Baldwin and it did not rate very highly.

Baldwin bought hastings took over the well known name.....Clarcor Corp. owns Baldwin, Hastings, Casite, maybe other brand names, and makes some Amsoil oil filters. It's kinda like the consolidation in the suspension business with federal mogal moog ect ect buy outs and mergers like a Roman orgy.

Actually, AMSOIL partnered with Wix and Donaldson many years ago and dropped Hastings (Baldwin). But, as you mention, really hard to tell who owns whom these days.
