can someone tell me what the numbers mean. I think my 69 427 had the engine replaced just before I bought it in 1969. I'm being told my numbers. Don't match.
I bought the car in the fall of 69 so it could not have been manufactured in 70
Maybe I better recheck the numbers on the block.
My suspicion is it's a replacement engine, the car just had 4700 miles on it and was told it had Been a demonstrator , but maybe it was repossessed by the dealership. Question is, how much does this engine devaluate the car from the original engine?
Unfortunately your car is NOM, regardless of what it used to be. The value now depends solely on condition...and competes with all the other NOM '69s...and there are quite a few. Market value is determined by supply versus demand. Many on this forum believe that in the future, nobody will care about all this original motor "foolishness" and spend their money accordingly. There are others, like myself, who have paid a hefty premium for an original motor car and dumped a ton of additional money into it. Oh well...only time will tell.
