Default spark plug removal ideas neede

I have a 1974 LS4 with A/C. I can't seem to find a way to replace the front two passenger side spark plugs. The AC unit is in the way from the top and the bottom from what I can see. I will take any suggestions short of removing the AC unit.

Thank you,

James

Take right front whel off. Go through the opening above A arm.

Good luck.

Exactlly right! You may need a swivel adapter to plumb under the A/C compressor a bit; but removing the right front wheel is the ticket.

I second the use of a swivel/universal joint adapter.

.... got one of those too, I also have the special jointed twist ratchet for spark plugs, works great with my LS4 with A/C.

When the engine is dead cold, on a smallblock at least, you can reach those plugs from behind the compressor. Not from directly above.

by the time you have the tire off, you could have laid on your back , looked up, had a clear look at the plugs, reached up and swapped them

Yep on my '68 BB, drivers side no problem.
Passenger side front two plugs under the AC compressor a different story.
You got to replace from underneath the car or through the wheel opening with the tire removed.
Not a driveway job. They'll come out but gettin em back in is a feat.
I spent a whole lotta time dickin with the last plug to get it started by hand. I like to start by hand so I know they are threading in properly.
I can not get the proper "feel" by starting the plugs inserted into the socket.
Once you look at it from underside or through wheel well the job becomes a whole lot easier.
A long extension makes it a snap through the wheel well.
Master tinkerer minimal progress

Thank you all for the suggestions. I went the "pull the wheel off" route and it worked. Thank goodness for small wrist and long fingers.

Have your wife do it. Her hands are probably smaller.
