Default Small Block 400 Build

Here's what I have:

sbc 400 (509 Block 2bolt main)
fresh bore(.030) and hone
flat top srp pistons
6" rods
callies stealth crank Shaft.

I the opportunity to get a new crane cam PN: CC-320A-NC for super cheap. Description from Jegz says RPM 5000-8600; Adv. Dur. 320 Int./Exh.; Valve Lift .599 Int./Exh.; Lobe Angle 108 deg.; Jegz part number 114721

I also have access to a weiand team-g single pane intake.

What Heads should I go with this set up? Should I find a different cam? Different Intake?

I want it for a weekend cruiser and occasional strip time. I am going to swap my 3speed with a 700r4. and it has the stock 3.36 gears. I want a lot of torque to make it fun.

Well that cam isn't going to do it for you.... it doesn't make power until your reving the the moon..... that cam is best suited to a high stall converter and 4.56 gears. Is that rpm range even right? 5000- 8600?? Must be a mistake? That's beyond the useful rpm range of your gears entirely.

Stick with something in the 268- 274 range for street torque and fun at the stop lights....you need the power to start coming in below 2,000 rpm.

A duel plane will work best and stay under the hood.

2.02 or 2.05 aluminum heads with 68cc chamber will be a nice fit too..

Cam, I would try to stay under .220 duration @0.50 for street ability!

I hope you changed out your main bolts for ARP studs on that 2 bolt main???

I was talking advertised duration like the OP posted... and the 400 2 bolt has been known to hold up better than the 4 bolt. Not that the studs won't help.
