Default Installing radiator seals

i am finally installing my new radiator and, after seeing how things go together and studying my AIM, I can't exactly figure out how the foam seals are supposed to install. the kit came with two long foam pieces that are notched to be able to bend near one end and then two shorter thick pieces that have concave ends as if they fit close to something. the originals were long gone but I can see remnants of the adhesive on the radiator support. It seems that the two long pieces simply fit between the core support and the radiator tanks in a straight line. I'm still trying to figure out where the short sections go and since one is slightly longer than the other. Any help/pictures are appreciated.

I had similar troubles with mine. Use the AIM to try and assign each piece to a respective "gap" to be filled before you pull off any of the adhesive coverings. Mark them, if needed, to get them in the right spots. Be sure that you will get all openings sealed reasonably well.

If I remember correctly, two of my pieces had the adhesive placed on the wrong side of the parts. But, I was able to "re-orient" them to get the job done.

Remember to use lacquer thinner to wipe off all the surfaces that will have the adhesive edges applied to them. If you don't, they will come un-glued rather soon.

Thanks! Good tip about the lacquer thinner. AIM is not much help on this one. The picture is very general and I can't get an exact placement from it. I can figure out something, though.

Go to Dr. Rebuild's Corvette web site. Lot's of illustrations there. Also had some forum members send me some pictures. The AIM sucks in this area.

The longer short piece goes on the driver side.
