Shorten Throttle Cable?
Thanks
Eddie
However, if it is the same as the older Vette cables, you can cut a section out of the center of the cable 1.5" long. Just cut the outer casing WITHOUT cutting the inner cable.
Then take a piece of steel gas line or brake line about 1.5" long that has the inside diameter the same size as the OD of the cable.
With a hack saw, cut the line/tube on one side, parallel with the tube.
With the throttle cable pulled apart at the cut, exposing the inner cable, slip the tube over the inner cable and then push both ends of the throttle cable together into the tube. Make sure the cut joint is centered in the tube.
Now crimp the tube together to make a firm joint.
Under the dash, where the cable attaches to the gas peddle, there will now be about 1.5" of slack cable.
You need to put some spacers on the end of the cable to take up that slack.
Note: This is a Bubba fix, however it does work well.
