Default 68 brake light switch capacitor wiring

. The capacitor has a lead off the top and bottom. the manual shows the top capacitor lead scotch locked into one of the brake light switch lead wires and the bottom capacitor lead wire scotch locked into the other switch wire lead.
My question is does it matter or how do I find out which capacitor lead goes on which wire.

If you don't have the original radio and/or you don't get any noise in your radio's output, just leave it off or leave it 'as is'. It's only there to stop clicks and pops that enter the radio's signal when you hit the brakes.

Thanks, I have the original radio and it is a pretty rare one with a working original stereo. I want to put it back the way it came from the factory.

Well, you can spend big buck$ on an exact replica of that noise suppression capacitor (which no one will ever see), or you can go to Radio Shack and buy a 2.2 mfd electrolytic capacitor (35 wvdc) and stick it in place.
