can these be installed in the front without modifying the lower A-Arm. Thanks
NO, That is if you are talking about QA-1 semi coil overs. But the change is very minor. You have to drill out the bolt holes for the lower a-arm for bigger fine thread bolts.
I went with the dual adjust and following the inept reasoning of the tech guy got the wimpy big block dual rate spring even though I explained to him that I had 550# before. Speed direct can acquire springs in 50 pound increments. So I have 600 for the street.
Im going with the same semi coilover set up only Im adding VPandB's TVL disk from their front monospring to the bottom of the spring pocket on the LCA to add strength and distribute the weight better. The shock will mount on top of it. What a great group of folks at Vette Brakes and Products too.
The amount of power that it would take to push the QA bottom shock mount through your a-arm would be enormous.
Kind of like if you drove your Vette off of a 10 story parking garage and it landed like a cat (level on all 4 tires) and the shocks punch through your A-arms. Would you worry about the ruined a-arms?
That is quite a scenario! I know a few folks have brought up the concern of a possible failure due to the weight of the car on the small area of the LCA. The gang at VPandB have never seen it nor have you....and you obviously drive/race your car but offered this as an alternative as well as a sleeping aid for me...it wont keep me up at night. I will post my findings.
