Default Nuts in my hoods!

Ok I've had nuts that roll around in my hood when I open it for awhile and recently I got more and seen one on the firewall. I was looking at the hood and seen that the hollow support that the nuts are in necks down bout half way. I am debaiting on cutting an access hole with a hole saw to get them out. Taking the hood off seems like it might work if I had some1 to help and shake them out and then blocking the holes by the firewall. But I don't have some1 to help and don't wanna take the hood off really.

Figured I'd ask and see if any1 has a better idea or has had this problem.

Just thought maybe cut a hole at the end of the large corner of the hollow support. Then a small hole just enough for the blowgun tip, where it necks down and then blow the junk out.

HOOD LOL :edit

I feel sorry for the poor fella that lost them....

Seriously you could open the hood, so that the "nuts" go to the bottom drill small holes and spray foam them into place.

Drill a small hole where they come to rest and squirt in a glue, of your choice, and secure them in place. No more rattle.

The only loose nut in my car is between the steering wheel and the drivers seat!
Seriously, I'll bet you could use a magnet to pull the nuts out someway. I would not cut holes in the hood.

I thought of that one too. But figured spray foam would also do the trick. Do you think that the nuts rattled off of were the hinge bolts go?

Sorry wasn't clear guys, acorns and walnuts, stupid mice! I live by a field and it's alway been a problem I have enough decon in my garage and barn to kill a herd of goats. I clean nest out of my cars all the time. I use mothballs, peperment, traps, decon, I accidently trap stray cats in my garage once in awhile.

Plus I use the car for drag racing and am always trying to take weight off. I'll prob switch to a lightweight hood sooner or later, but it's down on my list and I like how my car doesn't look all racey.

It was only a few nuts rolling round for years, then recently another mouse found that spot and it sounds like a lot more.

Use a shop vac and tape some smaller hose to the shop vac hose.

It worked great, bought some 3/4" clear thing walled hose and a 1.5" holesaw. I stuck the hose in the thin carpet attachment and plug the rest with my hand and fed the clear hose down. 8 whole walnuts, 4 partial acorns & walnuts and some pieces. With the two new holes at the top of the hood anything new they pack in should roll out when I hit the gas.

Sometimes, if you spread moth ***** around, they'll stay away. They hate the smell.

LOL I need to!

I use to use those buckets and get tons of mice week after week, it was gross. Really gross if I left it longer than a week and kind why I stopped. My dad learned bout the buckets over 20yrs ago, it was one of my chores.
