Default Broken wire in wiper system?

I think my blue wire that goes in to the wiper motor is not connected to the switch because if I run a jumper wire from the switch to the motor, the wipers work. But what is strange is that I have continuity between that motor contact and the switch while the wipers are off, but it goes away when I switch it on, could I be getting continuity through the motor or something and the wire is actually broken? Next question, does anyone know if there should be 2 blues wires coming out of the tach solenoid?

Thanks

Hi o,
I can only take a try at the second question.
The AIM indicates one yellow and one light blue wire at the solenoid mounted on the rear of the tach.
Regards,
Alan

I have to go take a look again on the car, I could have sworn that there were 2 yellow wires and 1 blue wire. The reason I'm asking is because in Willcox's drawing it looks as though there should be two blue wires, one coming from the switch and one going to the motor and I was hoping that that was where my disconnection was.

thanks for your reply Alan
