Default P/S pump

I am replacing the hoses on my power steering pump. Since all the power steering fluid drained out does the pump need to be primed or is there any other steps I need to do besides add new power steering fluid and turn the wheels lock to lock a few times?

You will need to fill the P/S pump to the usual "fill line"; then operate the steering lock-to-lock several times to remove excess air; then refill as needed.

I redid my P/S system when I had the car up in the air for a new exhaust system. I filled the pump and turned it by hand several times. Then turned the wheels lock to lock and repeated this several times.

The pump is the highest component in the system and all bubbles should work up to it over time. I checked several times and eventually no more bubbles.

I agree. Need to move all trapped air from slave cylinder, lines and back to the pump. turning the wheel right/left multiple times while engine is running/pumping is the answer.
