Do you guys have any clue what headers would work with my '74? I want to know because I will be putting on sidepipes, and wanted to get headers, too.
If you know of a good brand, or a good product, tell me what model number etc. Try to be as specific as possible. I have been looking for Hookers, but cannot find any that'll work on a 1974 Corvette... Thanks guys.

If I look at my sidepipes I cant use full length headers without wrapping the exhaust pipe in an S. I am going with Ceramic Coated Block Huggers from hooker. this will allow me to use sidepipes and headers. In any event I would say Hooker or Dougs Headers.
Re: What headers would work with my '74? (lampedusa)
Would these headers work? They are the HOK 2456 headers (Their application chart said they worked from 55-82 vettes), and most importantly, would these work with sidepipes...? http://www.atlanticspeed.com/
Products>Hooker headers> Super Competitors> HOK2456

Go to the Hooker website. You'll find the sidepipe header part number there. Here's a link to there site, but the header section is down as I'm typing this. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Hooker.html
I have the Hooker SuperComp sidepipe headers on my 74 sbc with angle plug heads.

Smoked, did you go through too much trouble putting them on? And how on earth did you do it anyway?? I was also wondering if you have to take much care of the chromeheaders/sidepipe setup, because that's what I am looking at.
Re: What headers would work with my '74? (lampedusa)
I think the hardest part about the installation is removing the old exhaust  . The Hooker headers come with a solid "thick" one piece steel plate that bolts to the head. I had cut out the sections between the end & middle tubes to ake installation/ removal easier. With it being one piece, you'll have to remove the dipstick tube, and any water temp sensors or anything that may be mounted in the head. The header mount from underneath the car. I think I may have had to remove the clutch linkage also, but that's very easy.
As far as the chrome goes, it's not bad to keep up if you don't drive or leave the car out in the rain. They tend to start rusting when you leave the car out in the rain & the water stays in between the the tube of the tubes where the go into the collector.
