Default Spindle installation tool

Anyone have any experience good or bad with this tool? I am having to redo my first poorly done rebuild and I don't have a press. It just seems like it will take a lot of torque to press on two bearings with just a threaded nut.

You will also need the setup tool, I've only used a press, for the money you will use a press a whole lot more.

I have the set-up tool. I did a poor mans rebuild on both arms sometime ago and just now am able to take it for a short test drive. Had chirping noise on both sides and found I had way too much end play, so I am in the process of doing it again. I would buy this tool if it works. Thanks

I don't remember where I got it, but I rented the rear end setup tools. They work well. I was able to set both sides to .002" endplay. I rented because they were pretty expensive for something I wouldn't use again for a long time.

I found a place in Dallas that rents the tools, but for what they charge I can buy the spindle install tool. I already have most of the other and that's really all I need.

I would just like to hear from those that have used it and if it works. I need to order tomorrow. Thanks.

When I rented, it was a whole lot cheaper than buying. Also, one of the tools broke while using it. Not from abuse. It looked like a porous casting or something. I explained before sending it back and wasn't charged a fee. I'm not sure if the tools have a warranty, but you might ask. The installation tool gets a lot of force applied to it. I'd hate to pay a lot for a tool and be stuck with it if it breaks.

I have both the removal and installation presses as well as the setup tools. These are the heavy, steel ones. I can't say if they are the same as the ones you are looking at. They do a very good job. Just make sure you have a socket handle that will give you enough leverage.

I also have a press but this only works if you have the spindle mount removed from the trailing arm and at the time, the mount was not going anywhere.
