The only problem I see with C3's is that they have a ~4" ground clearance and even more at the front bumper, and this allows for alot of air flow at speeds over 100.
Now the C3 steering is way to unpercise to be driven at those speeds, and what actually gives a lighter feel to the steering is the fact that the car is moving faster. Try turning the wheel when the car is stoped, and do it again when your driving at 5mph and again at 40mph and the faster the easier it is to turn it. (don't really try to do a wheel lock to lock at 40mph :D )

I have found that my 86 vert will do about 127 with the top down. I have never topped out with the top up, but I have seen some literature that put the top speed about 145 which sounds about right. Even then, by my calculations, I would be below the peak RPM, so gearing could push that up if top end were my priority. My car is a 'mostly stock' with minor bolt-on mods. ( Air filter, plug wires, high output coil and a hypertech chip). I could see not having much trouble at all going from a top of 145 to 160 IF (as I said) that was my intention. But since I expect that I will go more than 75mph possibly 4 or 5 more times in my life ( I'm a city boy, with a 35 minute drive to the nearest 'safe' place to open a car up) I will leave the stock rear in it and keep the gas-milage. :)
As far as control, I found that oddly enough, the roughest speeds are between 93 and 97. At about 100 the car smooths out. I think that is probably a result of wheel balancing. Either way, at 125 the car in no more squirly than at 80. I think that that is probably because the windshield of a vert acts as a big oversized spoiler.
Well this weekend I went to about 125 with the windows down and the T Tops off, that was it for 4th gear without downshifting...I need to order the 4th gear downshift eliminater....
When it downshifted to 3rd. it still wanted to accelerate, but I didn't :p:
It felt solid smooth and very stable....Just alot of wind noise :D
I had my new Benz up to 129mph on Saturday. It was an empty 3 lane highway. It was so smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth- I couldn't tell I was breaking the law. A quick look from wife kinda made the car deaccelerate... hee hee. I tried to explain the whole "full air bag system" and the car's "safety record"...etc.. she wasn't buying it. Since the car is hunkered down more than the regular E320... I practiced "evasive" lane changes.... nothing is more fun than DRIVING A BRAND NEW BENZ LIKE I JUST STOLE IT.... muhaahaaaa
We had my car doing about 125 one night and it was pretty scary, the car wasn't too stable and I ran out of gears. I think if I had spoilers on my car it would make a huge difference but I don't have 500 bucks for front and rear ones.
