Help with 69 sidepipe question
He is worried the there is too much muffler showing at the bottom of car behind the stock fined covers. He thinks his guy welded to the two pipes together "stack" on top of each other instead of (which he thinks is right) that there is a slight canter to the outside of car to lower the visual profile of stacked muffler... What is the correct way and how much should be showing.
Thanks. J
There was a thread about this very issue on the Forum with-in the last week. Perhaps you can look back through a few pages. It had a good picture of the exhaust mounted without the shields/insulators.
From your description it sounds like someone fabricated a set of side exhaust pipes and mufflers. Is that so?
With the stock configuration of pipes and original style shields and insulators it's possible to have no muffler seen from the side of the car.
It takes some determination and adjusting, but it's possible.

Alan
