What sort of noise is it making & when ? Is it coming from the differential or from the axle stubs. Possible that maybe the posi clutches are chattering when you turn left or right ? Maybe all you need is a complete fluid drain and change with the proper additive . Other then that,,,,,,good luck. Peace,,, moosie
To be serious for a change, Moosie is right. Most of the real differential noise can be cured with a fluid change with new posi additive. U-joints typically "clunk" or have a rattling noise if they are worn but a posi unit needed fresh fluid can shake the whole car particularly when going around a curve as in at a traffic intersection. It can feel like you are driving over something. A rhythmic whine can be old differential fluid or a bad bearing in the differential or at the trailing arm. Can you describe the noise?
the clunks and bangs from old diff oil can get pretty loud in a parking lot at full steering lock. The clutches load and unload with a bang and the posi additive smooths that out. But a whirling or steady rumble noise is bearings, an oil change might quiet it down if the damage isn't too bad
I saw that video earlier. I still think your outer u-joint or the outer retainer is bent, broken, or not seated correctly. Disassembly required to inspect and repair. I'm sure that causes a mean vibration at speed. Not to mention the stress is puts on the trailing arm bearings.
Casey,
what are you calling the outer retainer, is this the hub and outer u-joint asemmblely,
if so, thet were not seated properly, I have cleaned and reassembled driver side. and the shake/jump/thump is still there with just the one side together.
