Default Please Help Identify This Part

Hi. I think I have figured it out, but I just want to be sure.

Is it the resistor for the coil? (yes the bottom wire connects to the coil).
With the coil hooked up the bottom connector shows around 5 volts & the top connector shows full battery voltage (12.4) when the ignition is in the start position.
I am tidying up the wiring. As you can see, its been neglected for a while.

Thanks in Advance for your help.
