Default 1981 A/C blower wheel

Does anyone know why ALL of the Corvette parts sites provide the larger "squirrel cage" instead of the smaller one? I took mine out and the height is 2 3/4" and the new part is about an inch larger. You have to order the 1977 EARLY fan for the right size or make a spacer for the larger fan to fit. Has anybody run into this? What's better, making the spacer and using the larger fan or ordering the smaller '77 EARLY Vette fan? Thanks.

Try a search on this forum. From what I remember, everyone went to the larger fan and spacer to get more air flow.
Just from my memory.

No, but my hunch is only the larger size is being reproduced.

C4 squirrel cages are about a half inch larger and flow more air. If you want to use the C4 cage, you will have to fab up a spacer.
