would a 1988 454 out of a 3500 pickup motor work in a 1979 corvette

Will it? Simply put, yes it CAN, but it will not be a simple drop in though. Try searching on here, I have a BBC in my '79 and there is plenty of info on the boards about the swap. Good luck!

yes. harder than it looks...could be a real issue in some states with emissions as the BBC was a factory deal on this year model.

I would check into that. I live in FL where we just don't care!!

mite need to swap in the correct water pump and pulleys .a different intake mite be more desirable .

Peanut ports will run out of breath early, compression is around 7.8:1.
Block, crank and rods will work, you'll want to swap out cam, heads and pistons if you want it to run like a real 454.
