Default Requesting Dimensions re #1 Body Mount.

I tig welded 11 gauge steel in both the #4 & #1 body mounts and found my measurement for the #4 mount but not the #! mount.

Can someone please give me the location for the center hole on both #! body mounts as well as the size of hole needed so I can use the appropriate hole saw to drill out new holes. Please specify if the center location is from bottom or top of mount. See photo below. It's for a 75' Coupe.

Only info I have says they are 27-1/8" off centerline and 17-1/8 back from the forward datum hole (87-3/8 from he rear mounts)

Thanks for the reply Mooser;

Since the body mounts haven't moved, only reworked/rewelded I think I'm just going to find the center point within the pocket itself. I wonder how critical/exact the dimension truly needs to be?

As for the hole size, I believe #4 mount is 1 3/16" and since my greenlee punch doesn't work anymore I'll just use a 1 1/8" hole saw and ream out the other 1/16". I am however assuming #1 mount requires the same size hole.

Hi mmv,
You're right in thinking the hole in the frame mount was quite a bit larger than the body mount bolt.
In the earlier solid body mount years the position of the hole in the mount DID matter because the puck for the #1 and #4 mounts had a slightly raised center ring on it that positioned it in the body mount hole.
I'm not familiar enough with rubber body mount cars to know if it still mattered exactly where the body mount hole was located.
So?
Regards,
Alan

you are correct,the mount hole is 1 3/16" for all eight rubber bushings,this was measured when i did mine (73). the center point on the #1 mount(measured from Below) is 1 1/8" measured from frame outward to end of mount.

Thanks for the reply Alan and Husky73;

I didn't realize I had new #4 mounts and took some measurements. It would appear that the new ones are thicker and longer then the OEM.

Based on the photos below, would it appear that the center hole for #4 mount is approximately 2 5/16" from the frame at a size of 1 3/16"?

#1 mount is approximately 1 9/16" from the frame with the same size of 1 3/16"?

#4 Mount

The hole size is indeed 1 3/16".

#1 Mount

Hello MyVette, i just measured the #4 mount and i get 2 1/4" from frame to center of bolt through bushing.as for #1 mount i measured again and i get 1 1/8" from inside very upper portion(from below) of mount.in your photo of the #1 mount there is a center recess in the mount,i measured above that on the mount metal.this is a tough call on the exact center mark.

Thanks for the reply HUSKEE73

For #4 mount your dimension is 2 1/4" and mine is 2 5/16" so we're off by 1/16" and I do believe you're probably correct.

#1 mount your dimension is 1 1/8" and mine is 1 9/16" which is 7/16" difference so I will double check my dimensions tomorrow and get back to you.
