Default HELP! Cannot remove 72 gas pedal

Im trying to remove my smaller, gas pedal, on my 11/71 build date coupe to replace it with the larger pedal that seems to go with the car. Plus the fact that I can get the SS trim piece for the larger pedal and I like the looks of that. BUT I cannot for the life of me get the pivot pin out! I unhooked the spring, tried pressing the pin out in various positions, but it won't move. I can't even turn the pin. Ready to give up. Nothing is easy to do on this car.... Any ideas?

Assuming the spring isnt still holding it on, have you tried spraying the pin with WD40 and then twisting with a pair of plyers?

The pin has a relief cut in the middle, it's probably hanging up on something.
Try some lube and wiggle it when you pull or push... it'll probably come out.

Thanks guys, I ended up removing the small brace that the gas pedal rod pivots on, so I could move around the pedal and get to the backside easily. After soaking it in rust buster, I was able to get a vise grip on the pin end. I twisted it until it broke in half!! Then I drilled into the plastic around the pin's head until I could get a grip onto the head, then with much pressure, it finally twisted out. Wow, what a job, but it's now off!! Noone has this pivot pin locally, so I guess it's another order I have to place at one of the many corvette repro houses, which takes about a week to get a shipment.... Darn the cold weather is creeping in here fast in the NE..... Wish I lived down South somewhere as I really haven't had much of a chance to drive my car this year.
