Fyi unless they have improved them in the last few years the clear caps were made out of an inferior material which is more prone to oxidation and carbon tracking... a lot of guys on the VW forums had bad luck with them.

Yea, I know what you mean. But the low ceiling and weak concrete in my garage wouldn't support a post lift anyways. So I found some nice taller aluminum jack stands at Jeg's that get my car up 30" which is at least 10" higher than the little 3 ton jacks put it up. Man that extra 10" is a lot better to work with. Also had to buy a better floor jack from HF with a lift adapter to get the car high enough for the taller jacks. I'll try to attach the pix. FYI the 5" adapter only works with the heavier 3 ton floor jack.
Nice combo, looks great. Curious why you choose single fan over dual?

How are you going to handle the water pump by-pass? Experience is a sometimes cruel teacher-edumicated me to the fact that SHP blocks do not have a by-pass port. Couple ways around that. One not-so-pretty and one with 3 big *** holes in the thermostat. Or,just run around with your heater on all the time. I can get a pic of the not-so-pretty if you want to see it.
