Default Plugging valve covers?????????

I just bought a new chrome air cleaner with a K&N filter to replace my old one. My old air cleaner is stock and has the hose that comes out of the passenger side valve cover up to the air cleaner. Can I just plug that hole? And with what if I can?

You don't want to plug it as that is where the pcv air comes in unless you have a breather somewhere else. You should be able to get a breather that will plug into that hole. I have the same set up on mine.

I have a chrome aftermarket breather that fits in that hole, replacing the hose to the air cleaner. Mine is Mr. Gasket. Can't remember the price but it was cheap. You definitely need a source of filtered air into the crankcase as this is part of your PCV system. Open breather (like mine) or the closed method (your old stock system) both accomplish the same goal.

Its not my pcv valve, that hose goes to my carb.

Yes, I was talking about the hose that goes from your passenger side valve cover into the air cleaner that provides filtered air. Your PCV valve and hose is unaffected by your change in air cleaner. You can replace the stock breather hose (passenger side) with the Mr. Gasket style open breather.

I just put a small piece of chrome speed tape over the air cleaner hole but they do have a plastic plug that usually comes with the air cleaner for this purpose.
