Default Windshield washer

My wipers work fine but the washer pumps doesn't work. Does the pump have a fuse? Is there a way to check to see if the pump is bad?

Same circuit as the wiper motor. The washer has a yellow wire that should have power with the key on. The washer switch grounds the pump. Pull the plug off the washer motor and see if there is power and ground when the switch is pushed.

I would see if you have power on the yellow wire running to the washer pump first.. If you wipers work you should have power there as well. On the "Pump in Jar" systems in most cases the wire is either broken, damaged, or the pump motor is the issue.

mine was rotted out, it and the bottle had to be replaced. it was fun trying to tighten that filter down on the new pump.

Sometimes the pumps o-rings dry out and it won't pull the fluid from the reservoir. Have you tried to prime the pump?

Pull the hose from the reservoir bottle, hold that end of the hose higher than the pump, fill it with fluid using a small funnel, use an air supply (about 10 psi) and force fluid into the pump. If you disconnect the wiper hoses from the pump ports, you'll see fluid spray out when the pump is full.

No Brainer question of the day: do you have washer fluid?

LOL. Yes there is fluid in the reservoir. I will pull the wires to check for power. I have a voltmeter but I'm not sure really how to use it. I'm guessing that if I ground the black and put the positive on the yellow wire I should get a reading on the meter if the pump is getting power?
I think it is (if I'm understanding the above post) as the wipers work fine.
