The Gov. should be doing something about copying copy write/Trade Mark items, I mean if they go through the containers on ships looking for drugs they should be able to seize enough of these copies. Problem is the price to make them 1/hr in China and 20/hr here.
Ive always thought that the taxes on imported goods should be enough to keep the prices competitive, It sucks for an American company to follow the governing laws that put prices on American goods above that of the foreign competition.

History shows that import duties has never worked anywhere in the world to shore up a failing manufacturing section- and it won't work now.

People never notice that duties are just another tax where the money just sort of disappears................

I don't know what to say, NA companies put billions of dollars into getting something to market and the chinese copy them for a fraction of the price and they are seldom any good. They are breaking NA laws but apparently not chinese laws.

I could go into the powdered milk thing but this isn't the place

Your probably right, I'm not that great with this sorta thing, but look at walmart selling foreign garbage at cheap prices, if that same foriegn garbage was taxed to make prices competitive then would big box stores sell more made in america items which usually hold up better?

I dont know what the powdered milk thing is. Cusoms agents are fair at spotting drugs, but to them spotting a knock off ignition box or clone carburator is probably no easy task. Do you think that msd has parts for their boxes built in foreign countries? I try to buy American when ever possible, but this becomes wn issue sometimes when our companies out source parts to save money. My 2012 gmc probably has ton of out sourced parts in it. If our government would tax the crap outa all foreign products, do you think there would be a market for the chicom junk? I mean the only apeall for knock offs is the cheap pricing.

it is more the fault of our government than anything else, businesses having to supply health care , minimum wage, e.p.a regulations and taxes on everything electric , natural gas , oil and gas, telephone, cellular phone, and on and on. and foreign countries purposely de valuing their money, and our country letting them. then we have unions. were screwed

And then other countries would tax the crap out of American products, resulting in American products being too expensive to purchase, screwing over every domestic manufacturer who exports his products.

Please take an Econ 101 class sometime, and learn why high taxes generally just screw everyone over.
