Default TKO 600 - Question about Synchromesh

I'm trying to find out if the GM Synchromesh #12345349 is the same as AC Delco #88900333. I bought 2 quarts of #12345349 2 yrs ago from my local dealership at $24/qt, and I think I may need about another quart. SummitRacing states that #12345349 is not available but offered #88900333 as a substitute at less than $9 a quart. I am thinking it's the same stuff. I do not have any miles on this transmission (TKO 600), and I would hate to have something go wrong.

I picked up the Pennzoil variant. Works fine, 1000 miles later...

Pretty sure my TKO 600 required automatic transmission fluid.

No, it requires synchromesh manual transmission fluid. Not ATF or gear oil.

It's more like motor oil in consistency.

This is what you need and is recommended by name, or was with my TKO. It is also less expensive. Be sure to change it after 500 miles. I did mine at 500 and again at the end of the summer with about 2000 more miles on it. Gets pretty expensive using the GM stuff.

Thank you for the responses.

I might call American Powertrain, which is where I bought the conversion kit, and I'll see if I can top it off with #88900333.

After 500 miles, I may just drain it and run the Pennzoil. Thanks again.

The TKO isn't all that picky. I've run both synchromesh and royal purple and it shifted fine with both.
