TH350 to M20 swap?
My brother in law has a 1968 with a Muncie M20 in it. He is doing a T56 swap this winter and knows I want a manual. He offered to sell me the M20, clutch, bellhousing, flywheel and all associated linkages for $500, and help me install it. I told him yes because that it just dirt cheap. So I was having an auxiliary fan wired in (I don't like to do my own electrical work) and I asked my mechanic about the transmission swap. He said his first Vette was a 1971 that had a similar swap done and the transmission worked every way but right. He told me to think hard about it before I do it because it is a colossal headache and very easy to mess up. He said if your brother in law knows what he is doing and is willing to help you I would say go for it, but that the guy that did his did it completely wrong.
Has anybody here done this and if so is it as tough as I hear it is? Was it worth it?

For the most part its very straight forward with few surprises. Had an 80 that was converted, have to bolt on the bracket for the z bar to the frame, the 2 threaded holes are there for it already. The swap is nothing high tech, just time consuming. Dash and column have to be removed to swap the pedals, which is perhaps the most work of the whole conversion. Collect all the parts and have fun.

I have done this many times to Vettes and a few older Camaros. Yes it takes some time but it is well worth it in the end. Nothing to difficult to do. Pretty straight forward swap. All the parts are there or available. I would go for it
