68 Hood is stuck

68 Hood is stuck
I was adjusting the hood latch, closed the hood and now it is stuck. I can see through the side vent that the cable is fine. It looks like the latch on the cable missed the sticker and is stuck. Does anyone have any ideas to get it to release?

If its a gm hood, unscrew the 8 screws from your wiper grill and remove it.
Get a long screwdriver and line it up with that "V"
Find and push on the tab and it will pop. You have to do a little fishing for it but will will find it. Came in handy for me several times.

Hi,
Here's a picture of the tool that's described in a Service bulletin.
I believe it's intent is to reach through the wiper grill without removing it.
Blow the picture up to 8 1/2"x11" to determine the tool's size.

Added: Sorry, now that I read the instructions again I see the tool applies to 70-72 cars. I guess the 68-69 cars didn't have the hole w/plug.
