Default correct oil pan for '69 427

Did 427's in 1969 have what some call a "double hump" oil pan? A buddy says yes, and he has one he will swap with me for the "regular" one. I realize that the oil pick-up tube may vary also. Just wondering. Starting rebuild on motor that spun bearing after 75 miles of buying car. #'s matching block is OK !!! Motor had a square port Weiand intake on a oval port head motor.

That's for a 69 vette. Bubby says vettes had double hump oil pan and 427 Chevelles and Camaros had the regular oil pan.

Define a "Double Hump" pan. 2 sumps? I've had 2 69 427's and a good friend also has had 2 and none of these 4 had anything other than a 5 quart pan with a single sump. These are 390 HP, 2 x 435 HP and an L89.

here is a picture of the pan, the vette pan probably needed clearance for the steering linkage compared with the A and F body cars

There were several different oil pans used, but only three "basic" designs for the big block in the mid 60's / early 70's. The 67-75 full size cars used a "two step" 4 quart oil pan, the 66-74 Camaro, Chevelle and Nova used a "single step" 4 quart oil pan and the 65-74 Corvette used a "single step" 5 quart oil pan (see all examples below). Note the two ribs, the offset drain plug and the "trap door" on the Corvette pan. Also note the longer sump (11") on the Vette pan as opposed to the others.
