HELP!
I just put a new 355 Crate motor in my 1980 - I did order and install the 1980 Corvette chrome oil pan from Summit Racing -
After installing the engine with standard motor mounts - the power steering cylinder hits the pan when you turn the wheel far left or right.
I have been searching the internet from all manufacturers - and they're all the same. I can't seem to find one that's low profile in the front.
I took a measurement from just behind the 3rd bolt back from the front of the pan - and I'm at 4 and 1/2 inches.
I need to be at 4 and 1/4.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any suggestions?
Most of the Chrome Pans are one pan fits all imports. Either somebody here has a Pan for You or You can get a part number of a name brand Pan that will work.

I have a Canton pan on my 427 SBC and it fits nicely in my 77. The steering components have no clearance problems.
My engine has a Dart SHP block so the pan on my engine maybe slightly different than what you need so I won't quote a part number.
However, I'm sure if you contact Canton directly and advise them of your configuration I would believe they will be able to provide you a part number for one of their pans that will work.
Get a wooden dowel and put a dent in it! I would tape it up with painters tape to avoid scratching the chrome but a nice smooth indent and nobody would notice
A helluva lot easier than swapping pans....
