Default Newb w/ ?

OK, I know this has been covered somewhere but I cannot find it. I've searched here, google etc but cant find anything specific for this year model.

I just bought a 81 project and would like to complete it in a month. I know, wishful thinking. It's mostly done just needs a few adjustments like windows etc. and while there I want to clean everything up. Thing is, I cant find anywhere how to remove the door panels on this thing. I can find them for almost every year but the 81-82. NO, I dont have a AIM yet but it's coming.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

Just a heads up, I'm going to need info on replacing the Complete wiper system and hood latch assembly. If you want to chime in on these topics, Please do so.

My '74 is way too different to be of any help.
Just remove any and all latches etc, look for any and all screws around the sides/edges then there is probably industrial velcro like snaps to pop free, lastly, it will have to lift up off of the upper door/window frame and outwards kinda at the same time.

If you cant get the door panel off, adjusting the windows is worse

Work the problem, carefully, slowly and use your eyes and noodle. Don't force anything - door panels are expensive.

There 2 screws at the bottom of the panel, 3 more to remove the arm rest, remove the door lock ****, remove the screw at the door release handle bezel and one at the rear top. Bump the panel up to release it at the top and then disconnect the power door connector.

OK, panel off, missing the forward vertical window track. can this be installed w/ window in car? what size bolts are used? There is a short track that shows on the bottom of the door abt 6" long but do not see where it goes.
Just FYI, this car is a project and has no power so if I need to move the window, how do I go about doing that? Can I use jumpers to the window motor?

OK, found these 2 wires on the bottom of the door. What do they go to? One is a two wire plug and the other has a round plastic end on it.

That helps but, w/o power I cant move window. I have the window out now. debating on removing rest of hardware to clean tracks and see where these extra wires go.

The wires may be part of your alarm system.

OK , new questions.

When you guys clean the rust from your window hardware, do you paint it or leave it bare? Just curious, there is a little rust on these parts and I've treated w/ OSPHO but think it looks unfinished.

Clean the rust and lube, prime it with a self-etching primer then a top coat with paint resembling the finish of the original part. Let the paint dry real good, you can put the painted parts under a hot lamp until dry, seems to make it harder.
Then re-lube and install.
