Anyway, to me there are several outstanding factors to this conversation:

1. the WOT only activation makes little sense and does make one wonder why they bothered.
2. Having the Cowl plenum open 100% with the air cleaner seal in place and sealed is going to force the air into the carb, which was the original objective.
3. IF you remove the air cleaner seal, I believe there are two benfefits; At idle heat will rise and dissipate out thorugh the open cowl vent. At speed, cold air comes in thru the cowl, and creates a vortex when combined with cold air being sucked in from the bottom. More cold air in the engine compartment = less hot hot everwhere else.

Anyway I choose to take my results for that they are, (imaginitive as you think they may be ) whether or not they work in anyone elses imaginations!
I was being facetious. I have no idea what the temps are under the hood or at the Q-Jet. Nor do I care. I just know the car runs at 180*F at 70mph even in the occasional 90*F ambient heat we see here in July/August. Not my imagination. If it runs correctly leave it alone. I don't really care where the combustion air comes from.

I can admit to episodes in the past when I fixed things until they broke. I think that bent on repair is behind me. So I will not be putting little paper strips on my cowl intake any time soon to optimize a perfectly working system.

It was 28*F this morning BTW. Cold air induction is working fine.

Heck we can have a little fun here at times. I do admire Corvette enthusiasts who do more than me (I just drive) to take their engines to the max.
