Default Anyone running the edlerbrook 2099

My 80 is stock 350 with an edelbrock carb(and 700r4 in the works) all else is stock

I'm looking to increase hp w/o having to pull the motor(long story) the stock 200hp is not cutting. Anyone running the edlerbrook 2099 or is there a better combo package I should be looking into? My budget is $2500 for parts only and am doing the work - solo- Thanks.

I would do a little research on this site concerning hood clearance issues with that intake.

in my 79 i have the rpm air gap with a 1/2 in spacer and 750 double pumper , i use a dropped base air cleaner.
if your engine is stock your intake is the last thing you need to change.do a search on modifications.

2099 is the part number for one of Edelbrock's top-end kits, what they call a "power package." It includes heads and a hydraulic roller cam as well as the intake (but not retro lifters).

I am interested in opinions on this package as well, if anyone out there has experience with it or any of the components...?

i was responding to the post on hood clearance. personally edelbrock makes quality products but you can do more for less putting your own components together.

Installing another carb/intake on your stock engine is not likely to make much of an improvement in performance. The heads and cam in your engine are the primary "limiting" factors for performance. Once heads and cam are changed, the intake and the exhaust manifolds/system become the restrictions.

In NO instance is the Quadrajet carb your performance problem (unless it just needs to be rebuilt).
