Step 1. Will the wiper door open if you pull the by-pass **** under the steering column?

revi,
this may make sound quite dumb, but pulling the by-pass ****, should I see it open? Or does this just allow to get out of the car and pull it open by hand? I am asking this because lack of knowledge on this topic and that pulling the **** did not open it by itself.
So, lets say if did not work, what is the next step?
thanks!

There are two pull switches. One for wiper door and one for headlights. If neither does anything, see the Willcox references above.

Good luck. Ralph

Hi m2v,
When you pull the override the door should open by itself.
The wipers can't start until the door is fully open.
If you open the door by hand will the wipers work?
Is the **** between the 2 override switches turned?... it stops the wipers wherever they are. They won't move until the **** is turned again.
If the door won't open it's likely a vacuum problem...
If the wipers won't operate with the door fully open it's likely an electrical problem.....
Regards,
Alan

Start your car, pull the right by-pass ****. The wiper door should open on its own. Since it looks like it didn't open on its own, try pulling the left by-pass ****, the headlights should pop open. Do they?

If the headlights do not open there could be numerous issues with your vacuum system. It could be as simple as the vacuum source from the manifold isn't hooked up to the vacuum tank, the vacuum tank is missing, nothing is hooked up, etc., etc..

Get a Mighty Vac and apply vacuum to the wiper door actuator. Does it pop up?

Yes, provided you have a source of vacuum (engine running or reserve tank).

Opening and closing of the wiper door and the headlight doors is 100% vacuum.
