1969 BB car. Wiper actuator on firewall has a shaft going through firewall. That shaft connects to a "wiper actuator rod nut". That in turn is connected to a "link" that pivots. My link may have been broken off at some point and the rod nut is missing. I have only 4 threads on the link. Does anyone know how long or how many threads are on a good link? I just don't want to buy a new one if mine is the correct length. Thanks
Mine has about 4 threads showing, plus what would be under the locking nut. As I recall, there are quite a few threads screwed into the long nut attached to the linkage that goes through the firewall.
If your's is broken, that would be a job to fix, other than a replacement vacuum can assembly.
I posted that my "actuator rod nut" is missing so of course the flap doesn't work. The shaft coming out of the actuator is also apparently stuck. It won't budge in or out with a tremendous amount of pressure. So I know I have to buy an actuator and the rod nut. My question is how long is the link that pivots? It is there, still riveted in place but looks like it may have been broken off since it only has 4 threads left on it. That is the question. Hope that is more clear.
