The EZ will not match the hole in the firewall, you also do not get a complete list on the wiring in the harness as you do with the painless. Have not installed a EZ but did purchase one for the 73. Tried to get a listing of all the circuits from them and they refused. I sent it back as I have used painless in the past. I was trying to save a little money.

To make it work I had to cut the center out of the old harness that mounted to the firewall of my 79 and it clipped right to it, also did not come with anyway to seal that big hole in the firewall the stock harness used other than a grommet that was to small for that hole. I used a shift boot and ran the screws through it that hold it on the firewall, but I still wouldn't use them again and if I hadn't been tryin to save money I would have use Painless also.

For the eng compartment i just used a OEM replacement like from lectric limited. All it took was removed one side of firewall harness from the terminal block at a time and plug in the replacement. There was plenty of grease left in the block so i didnt add any. Then swapped each sensor terminal connector one at a time. Drivers side is easier as p-side has the starter which is difficult to access. FYI the A/C harness is an add-on to the p-side harness.

My console harness was in great shape because its under the dash and protected from UV. No need to replace my console harness.

Hope this helps,
