Can anyone tell me which holley carb will fit with the stock snorkel air cleaner in the 72 vette. I bought a vac secondary but the cleaner wont fit. I was told by some that the mech secondary will work and some say it wont. I was looking at the 6210. Needs to be a spreadbore
I know the Holley spreadbores by 4165 (DP) and 4175 (Vac sec). I had the 4175 and was able to make the 73 dual snorkel base fit by putting a dent in it where the diaphram sticks up above the carb base...if you have the 4160 DP carb it will definitely fit.
Edited for bad grammar and correct model for the DP. Thanks MelWff...bad mem!

I had the stock air cleaner from my '79 on my Holley for a while. I had to do major mods to the air cleaner base. I cut it out to fit over the carb and welded in some sheet metal to seal it. Worked great, except it was contributing to my heat soak problems so I finally shelved it in favor of an open element air cleaner.
I have used the Holley 6210 carb on several Corvettes and never had an issue with air cleaner fitment. I have always used the double pumper versions. The vacuum secondary version can create some conflict.

Great carb. I put one on my 68 427/390. Felt like I bolted on 100 horsepower (my QJ was in bad shape). It's been a great carb and required no heroics to install.
