SO all this crap about gasoline deterioration I think is more about the specifics of the storage, and maybe a bit with the ethanol.....and I have some other stories about my opinions/and WHY....but that's another topic.....

i agree alot of this gasoline deterioration stuff is overblown however, gasoline is blended differently than 20 30 and 40 years ago( lead) different seasons have different blends different altitudes different states all affect the product . one would think all of that has to affect the stability of our fuel.

The gas in my 73 was probably 3 years old when I got it. I drove it to the gas station and topped it off and works fine. First 1/2 miles or so was a little rough not sure if it was age or the gas but no problems since.
I have had 'stabalizer' gell in two stroke gas tanks.
My Stihl chainsaw dealer has recommended 91 octane. I have used the same in 4 stroke engines on my rototiller and lawnmower with no problems.
To "keep sane-just drain". I can't stand 'gas shelac'.
I have had C12 fuel in my drag car while sitting for three years and it will still fire although that leaded fuel can eat hoses. The upside about that is I have not lost a race in the same amount of time.
Gasoline deterioration is all just a myth, overblown, urban legend, no big deal, fun and games.... right up to until it bites you in the *** and you are forced to clean a fuel system.
