hello, this is my first corvette and seem to be asking the simple questions, but when I pulled the engine I found that it had one long spring at the shaft to pedal linkage to pull the pedal back up, but reading some of the blogs it sounds like the spring or springs are actually on the clutch fork anybody got some help for me...Troy
If it's like my '69, there is a hole for a spring in the Z-bar upright that the clutch pedal rod connects to and another hole on the metal reinforcement where the steering column comes through the firewall. The spring between these 2 points pulls the clutch pedal against the stop under the dash and takes the load off of the throw-out bearing.
Alan,
I'm always amazed by the pix you post on different threads. The lighting is always good. But the parts are always in fantastic shape as if you had the cars stored in a sealed nitrogen environment. The pix in this thread is an example of one of many that you have posted.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your comment!
My car was pretty carefully restored and is fortunate enough to be stored in a clean, dry, temperature conditioned, space. (Thanks to my wife!!)
Posting pictures is really the only payback I can offer for the pleasure this Corvette has given me for 42 years. Some pictures are 10-15 years old and some are brand new.
Regards,
Alan
